SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND INTEGRATION INTO THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

Introduction

Sustainable development and integration into the global economy are among the key development goals being pursued by each African country. It is thus natural for the GCA to establish these as the overarching objectives of its activities in the economic arena. The sectoral topics that figure high on the GCA priority agenda, including agriculture, trade and investment, and regional economic integration, all in one way or another contribute to sustainable development of African countries and/or to their step-by-step integration into the global economy. Some other issues that the GCA endeavors to promote, such as private sector development, also fall under the same broad goals.
