Introduction
Since its inception, the GCA has focused on the importance of good governance, political inclusion and democratic participation in creating a conducive environment for development it Africa. It has addressed various aspects of governance and political transition in its meetings, in order to promote better understanding of the challenges faced and how they might be overcome. Recognizing the deleterious effect of corruption, the GCA was also instrumental in placing corruption and development on the international policy agenda.
